ROGINI CHICKEN

INGREDIENTS:

1-CHICKEN-                                                 800gm

2-CASHEWNUTS-                                       1tbs

3-POPPY SEEDS-                                         1tbs

 

4-GINGER GARLIC PASTE –                        1.5tbs

5-ONIONS (SLICED)-                                  1cup

6-TOMATOES (CHOPPED)-                       0.5cup

7-CARDAMOM (GREEN)- 3

8-CARDAMOM (BLACK)-2

9-CINNAMON-2stick

10-BAYLEAVES-2

11-CORIANDER LEAVES (CHOPPED)- 1tbs

12-CORIANDER POWDER- 1tbs

13-RED CHILLY (PASTE)-1.5tbs

14-CURD (BEATEN)- 0.5cup

15-GARAM MASALA- 1tsp

16 OIL -5tbs

17-SALT- to taste

METHOD:

1-Clean &cut chicken into 8-10 pieces.

2-Soak cashewnut &poppy seeds separately for 20 minutes.

3-First grind poppy seeds then put cashewnut in it ,grind together &keep aside.

4-Heat oil in a pan add whole garam masala then add onions saute it till golden brown in colour ,add ginger & garlic paste sauté it for a few seconds.

5-Put tomatoes &salt, sauté them till they are mashed, add red chilly paste sprinkle some water &stir it.

6-Add cashewnut &poppy seeds paste &coriander powder then chicken, sauté till the oil start separating from the masala.

7-Finally add curd ,2cups of water stir it well,

8- Cook it till the chicken is tender ,remove it from the fire ,sprinkle some garam masala.Mix it well.

9-Serve hot garnish with chopped coriander leaves.

  1. It is a dish with thick rich gravy,made of red masala with cashew nuts,poppy seeds,raisins [or any of two],onions,ginger&garlic paste and at last minute addition of curd.It is an orange brown coloured gravy
