MOONG DAL HALWA

INGREDIENTS

1-Moong dal [washed]                                                 1cup

2-Clarified butter [ghee]                                             1cup

3-Sugar                                                                                 1cup

4-Cardamom powder                                                   ½ tsp

5-Dry fruits [sliced]                                                        2tbs

6-Water                                                                                3cups

7-Yellow colour [edible]                                             few drops [optional]

METHOD

1-Wash and soak the dal for 1hour drain out the water and grind it till fine grains are left.

2-Heat ghee in a kadahi, fry dal on gentle heat till light brown in colour, stirs it continuously.

3-Boil sugar, water and few drops of yellow colour in a pan, stir it continuously till it dissolves completely.

4-Add slowly to the fried dal, stirring vigorously till the mixture becomes thick.

5-Mix-in cardamom powder, garnish with dry fruits.
